Symbiotic Agriculture in Motion!

Chickens & ducks make excellent natural parasite control.

Geese help protect the chickens & ducks from small predators like weasels and fox while being watchful over our family.

Phatso, the Ranch Kitty, takes care of mice, red squirrels & other nuisiance rodents.

Happy, this little African Grey has blossomed into a chatty guard goose.
Jacob aka Handsome, this Akbash in one of two gentle giants that mitigate predator problems.  He may look fierce in this picture, but he & his sister are goofy goobers!

What is "symbiotic" agriculture?

A symbiotic relationship is a term commonly used in biology to explain the relationship between two entities that need each other to survive and prosper.

A symbiotic relationship in it's purest form can be found when one entity partners with another to achieve a common goal.

The bee benefits by providing pollen to the hive in which they create honey. The apple trees benefit to produce fruit. The bee needs the flower to survive, the flower needs the bee to survive.

These are positive sum relationships! So why not apply the most basic natural processes to reduce my workload and expenses while enhancing animal health, happiness and overall yields. Umm....no brainer for this gal!

I am always learning from nature!

We all serve a purpose.

Emma, the pampered goat, loves to much up the hay discarded by her camelid buds and sip from Lee's unwatched cup from time to time.

Bio Security is strictly enforced, however everyone is allowed to nose the herd before entering quarantine paddock(s).

Mimi! And what Ranch wouldn't be complete without a Unicorn?  This is our Mimi, The Unicorn with No Horn.

I am always learning from nature!

Sometimes it just takes time to study nature at work and then experiment.

Yes, there are naysayers out there, but hey, this practice works for me.
