Predators & parasites plague all farms & ranches, however they can be particularly problematic to the camelid & poultry. |

 The myriad of predators seen in NE America pose a set of unique challenges.
As camelids are indigenous to South America, their immune systems have not evolved to effectively deal with specific internal parasites such as meningeal. The same is true for small ruminants, such as goats & sheep.
At HespeGarden, the Operation Liberation herd is comprised of alpacas, llamas, small ruminants & poultry that were deemed no longer wanted, needed, or otherwise compromised. As I embrace symbiotic relationships, this is a battle that is fought even more passionately. We are currently have a project underway to abate nuisance predators from our property. As soon as weather permits in spring of 2011, 10' cedar posts will be erected along the entire perimeter and heavy duty game fencing shall be installed. Volunteer labor welcome! Otherwise, it shall be a one woman show. | |

To create a healthy, nurturing & protective umbrella of care, we are in the process of taking the necessary steps to remove, mitigate and eradicate nuisance predators.

Corresponding with sturdy perimeter fencing, it is essential to eradicate the meningeal worm from the property by keeping the white tail deer out of our pastures, improving drainage & functionally utilitizing wetland habitat. | | |
